The Russians said they had modernised an unknown cruise missile for the Tu-22M3 bomber and increased the weight of the warhead to 1,750kg
Thanks to Kim Jong Un's visit, we learned about another possible novelty of the Russian defence complex. But, again, apart from the words of one of the generals, no evidence has been provided.
Here's What We Know
Earlier we wrote that the DPRK leader looked at a number of Russian aircraft. He was shown a modernised fighter MiG-31I with a pseudo-hypersonic missile Kh-47M2 and told about the new strategic missile Kh-BD with a launch range of more than 6500 km for the nuclear bomber Tu-160.
It also became known that the Tu-22M3 long-range bomber received a new missile. More precisely, the Russians allegedly managed to refine the existing cruise missile, increasing the weight of the warhead to 1750kg.
Perhaps we are talking about the Kh-32 or Kh-22, which Russia often uses to shell Ukraine. However, it is possible that the statement about the modernisation of the cruise missile is nothing but an attempt to impress a guest from North Korea.
