Here's What We Know
US President Joe Biden reportedly told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the Pentagon will transfer long-range ATACMS missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. But the terms were not specified.
It will be a small batch of tactical ballistic missiles. ATACMS with a unitary warhead will allow the US M142 HIMARS missile system to hit enemy targets within a radius of almost 300 kilometres.
According to the interlocutor from the US Congress, US officials have not yet finalised the type and number of missiles to be delivered to Ukraine. He added that Eastern European countries had already transferred a significant part of their weapons stockpiles to the Armed Forces. As for long-range weapons, Ukraine has received Storm Shadow and SCALP EG cruise missiles, and is also awaiting Taurus.
