Ukraine for the first time officially showed on video the launch of the British AIM-132 ASRAAM missile to destroy the Shahed-136 kamikaze drone
The Ukrainian Air Force is actively using British AIM-132 ASRAAM missiles as part of its air defence system. On 12 October 2023, the first official video of ASRAAM use was published.

A few days ago, a video of the use of ASRAAM already appeared on social networks. This was about two months after the announcement of deliveries. Now we got the footage from an official source.
The target of the missile was a Shahed-136 kamikaze drone. The video of the use of ASRAAM was published by the commander of the Air Force of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk. A total of 28 out of 36 drones that were launched from Crimea and Belgorod region were destroyed on the night of 12 October.
The launcher for the use of AIM-132 ASRAAM is mounted on a Supacat HMT chassis. Targeting of the missiles is carried out by the Chess Dynamics Hawkeye station.
