The US Marines have equipped a Chinese robotic dog with an M72 LAW missile launcher
The US Marine Corps decided to conduct an experiment with a robotic dog. It managed to install a missile system on it.
Here's What We Know
The tests took place in the US Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Centre (US Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center), California. The purpose of the test was merely to demonstrate the viability of such a concept.
Judging by the footage, a robotic dog from the Chinese company Unitree was chosen for the test. However, the model is not mentioned in the official press release. Despite the weakness and low weight of the platform, the robot's capabilities were enough to demonstrate the technology. The M72 LAW complex was mounted on its back.
Note that last year the Russians presented a robotic dog with a $16,000 grenade launcher. They tried to pass it off as their own development, which they called M-81. As it turned out, the Russians mounted the grenade launcher on the $2700-8500 Unitree Go1 robot. The Chinese company later said it did not sell the robot to the Russians.
