Dazzler - combat module with 500W laser weapon, automatic cannon and machine gun to counter drones

Electro Optical Systems (EOS) has demonstrated the Dazzler combat module for the first time. It was unveiled in Sydney at the Indo Pacific 2023 exhibition.

Here's What We Know

The device is based on the R800 remote combat module. The latter is a battle station that supports the installation of an automatic cannon and short-range anti-tank missiles.

The Dazzler is equipped with a 30mm automatic cannon, which is complemented by a 7.62mm machine gun. The third component of the combat system is a laser weapon. Its power is 500 watts and its range reaches 2,000 metres.

The combat module is designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles. It uses the soft kill concept, which involves defeating the UAV's electro-optical systems.

The Australian company said the Dazzler has reached the sixth of nine readiness levels. And it took it only eight months to do so. The final stage involves starting mass production.
