Turkey has successfully tested the Çakır cruise missile.
Here's What We Know
The information was shared by Baykar company on its Twitter page. The missile was launched from an unmanned aerial vehicle Akıncı. Çakır successfully hit a target in the sea at a distance of 100 kilometres. During the test, the missile flew at a maximum speed of 800 kilometres per hour.
Flashback
Çakır is a new generation cruise missile. The missile is being developed by Turkish company Roketsan. It can be launched from land, sea and air platforms. The stated range of target engagement is more than 150 kilometres.
