Samsung Galaxy A55 5G is the company's first smartphone to get seamless updates from Google
Last November, it became noticeable that "seamless updates" on Google's Pixel devices were much faster and now it looks like Samsung has finally adopted the feature too. Seamless Android updates, also known as A/B system updates, allow you to normally use your phone while the update is being installed in the background.
Here's What We Know
Samsung has made a change in its policy and introduced seamless updates for the first time on its Galaxy A55 5G smartphone. This was noticed after installing the latest patch in March 2024.
Unlike other Samsung smartphones such as the Galaxy S24 series that require a device reboot to complete the update installation, the Galaxy A55 5G installs updates in the background. Users simply need to reboot the device to complete the update, instead of watching it install on the One UI installation screen.
It's surprising that Samsung chose to release this feature on one of its mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A55 5G, rather than its flagship phones like the Galaxy S24 series. Perhaps Samsung will apply this feature to its other devices in future updates.
