Five reasons not to buy Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro TWS earbuds (and it's not just the price)
We have already reviewed 5 reasons to buy Samsung's flagship TWS earphones 2022, but there are always objective reasons to refuse to buy, which buyers should be aware of in order to make the right and meaningful choice (and so that the purchase pleases the heart and soul, and does not look like a blow to the wallet).
1. You do not listen and are not going to listen to Hi-Res Audio
Let's be frank - not all people can consider themselves true audiophiles. For the vast majority of consumers it does not matter what kind of music is playing there. The proof of this is a huge number of cheap wired headphones, which were sold, which quite satisfy their customer audience. They work and this is enough. At the same time, all the big three music streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music) broadcast sound of 16-bit quality. On the one hand, this confirms the truth that this is quite enough for the mass audience. On the other hand, a true audiophile will have to strain to listen to music in Hi-Res. For them, there are two ways - either to return to the previous technological era and listen to files with music that are specially downloaded (what is physically in the phone - that's what you will listen to). Or bother with the Tidal service (also with a VPN, if it does not work in your country), which can transmit music in Hi-Res.
2. In-ear headphone models do not suit you
It is generally accepted that in-ear (vacuum) headphones have an advantage over open in-ear headphones. They close the ear canals tighter, which improves sound insulation and noise reduction, and generally sit more securely in the ears. They sound, all other things being equal, also better simply because the sound sources are located closer to the ear membrane. But still there is a part of consumers for whom such headphones are not suitable. Usually it is expressed in discomfort due to the tight fit of rubber seals. After prolonged (several hours) wearing, there may be a feeling of pain on the inner surface of the ears. If you have never used in-ear headphones before, you should first test your own ears for "compatibility" with the technology. If you find yourself in the minority, for whom they do not fit - there are always models of headphones (including noise canceling), with a different structure of the headphone.
3 No multipoint support for non-Samsung devices
The ability to simultaneously connect a Bluetooth accessory to two devices at the same time, since the days of monaural Bluetooth headsets, is commonly called multipoint. It is very convenient when, for example, headphones are connected to a computer (you listen to music or have a video call), and at this time a call comes to your smartphone, which can be answered by switching automatically. This is not to say that Buds2 Pro can't do this at all. But this feature applies only to Samsung devices (laptops, new TVs and even smart monitors running Tizen). If you do not have a Samsung laptop (and according to statistics, almost certainly not), then you will be deprived of this opportunity. And if this is suddenly critical for you, it is better to look for another model (for example, Huawei FreeBuds Pro, which can do it).
4. Irrelevant set of headphone characteristics for you
As you know, it makes no sense to pay extra for technologies that you will never use (for example, sound recording in Audio 360). Or, for example, the ability to wirelessly charge headphones. It's not even about saving money, it's about the fact that maybe you have some additional requirements for the purchase that remained beyond the attention of gg editorial staff (everyone, as we know for sure, is different). For example, your friend ordered you headphones for your birthday, but they must be red. There is nothing to be done - Samsung does not offer Buds2 Pro in red color. That is, the issue may not be related to technology at all, but, for example, to design. And we need another form factor of TWS-headphones (say, with legs). Or, for example, for some reason, the Type C charging connector is absolutely not suitable and you need an old-school microUSB. In the end, there are no products designed for "everyone", otherwise we would not have such a variety of gadgets in general and headphones in particular.
5. Your wallet is not ready for such expenses and offers to find something simpler
Finally, the last on the list (but clearly not the least important for buyers) reason not to buy Galaxy Buds2 Pro is the simple fact that their price is beyond your budget. This is a perfectly normal life situation that doesn't really say anything about your real financial capabilities. As you know, even Silicon Valley billionaires stand in the same queue for their takeaway coffee with "mere mortals", and do not go to the most expensive restaurant in San Francisco. Therefore, you can simply choose a simpler model of headphones (for example, Galaxy Buds2 cost one and a half times cheaper, and their basic features are the same). But this is a topic for a separate conversation.
