Samsung is holding its summer Galaxy Unpacked 2022 presentation today, the main premieres of which are new foldable smartphones. So we meet the first novelty - Galaxy Flip 4.

What is interesting about it?

Externally, the smartphone differs almost nothing from its predecessor: the same flip form factor, a large screen inside that folds in half, and a small display outside. So the main changes are inside.

First and foremost the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor is inside, which offers a significant performance boost over the Flip 3's Snapdragon 888. Paired with a larger 3,700 mAh battery, with should increase operating time. The smartphone supports 25W wired fast charging, which can charge the battery by 50% in 30 minutes.

Also among the changes there are a thinner hinge, Gorilla Glass Victus+ protective glass on the outer surface and an improved main camera, combining two 12 MP sensors.

Other features the new model inherited from the old model: 6.7-inch main display FHD + Dynamic AMOLED 2X with support for adaptive refresh rate (up to 120 Hz), external 1.9-inch Super AMOLED screen, IPX8 water protection, stereo speakers and side fingerprint scanner.

Special attention should be paid to the FlexCam function, with which you can shoot video without using your hands or take full group selfies from different angles by partially folding the device. By the way, it is also optimized for third-party applications such as Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook. You can now make calls, answer text messages or open the car from the main screen.

Price

The Galaxy Flip 4 is available for pre-order starting today, with sales starting Aug. 26. The price is also unchanged, from $1,000 for the 8/128GB version.
