Samsung's 2018 flagship will no longer receive Android and One UI updates
Samsung has finally completed the life cycle of one of the flagship smartphones from four years ago.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 model. The flagship was announced in August 2018 and received the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. A year later, it was updated to Android 9, and in 2020, Android 10 was released along with One UI 2.5 firmware.
Since then, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has received operating system security patches once in three months. The company won't be releasing updates any more.
Moreover, for the 2019 Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ models, security patches will now be released once every three months. Recall that both smartphones came out in 2019 with Android 9, but are already running on Android 12 with One UI 4. The Android 13 operating system will not be released for them.
