The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with its 200MP camera couldn't rise above 10th place in DxOMark's ranking of the best camera phones
The next-generation flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is the most technologically advanced Android smartphone in its form factor, has landed in the hands of DxOMark experts. They tested the novelty camera, which features 200 MP + 12 MP + 10 MP + 10 MP resolution, 10x and 3x optical zoom, OIS, and support for 8K@24/30FPS and 4K@30/60FPS.
Here's What We Know
The DxOMark press release states that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra achieved a high score in the main camera test. It didn't fail in any of the categories, delivering high detail in photos, natural colour reproduction and wide dynamic range regardless of lighting quality.
Despite having a telephoto lens with periscopic optics and 10x optical zoom, Samsung's novelty was behind the Huawei Mate 50 Pro and Honor Magic 4 Ultra in this regard. The telephoto lens capabilities are rated at 141, compared to the maximum score of 151 achieved by the Honor Magic 4 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra received a total score of 139 for photography. The Huawei Mate 50 Pro had the maximum score of 152. The flagship's video capabilities are rated at 137 points. The leader in this indicator is the iPhone 14 Pro Max (149 points).
With a total score of 140 points, the Galaxy S23 Ultra took 10th place. Google Pixel 7 and vivo X90 Pro+ scored the same. Apart from the aforementioned flagships Honor Magic 4 Ultimate (147) and Huawei Mate 50 Pro (149), Google Pixel 7 Pro (147), iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max (146 each), Huawei P50 Pro (143), iPhone 13 Pro / Pro Max and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra (141 each) were also higher.
