Virgin Galactic will create a plant to produce Delta spacecraft
The British company Virgin Galactic will build a plant in the United States, which will produce spacecraft Delta.
What we know
The enterprise will appear near the city of Phoenix, Arizona. The British company plans to produce up to six spacecraft Delta each year. The plant is scheduled to be operational by the end of next year.
Virgin Galactic wants to carry out about 400 suborbital flights each year. To do so, the company will use spacecraft Delta and carrier planes, which will be launched in 2026 and 2025, respectively.
The announcement of the Arizona plant was made a year after the debut suborbital flight Virgin Galactic with a crew aboard. Recall that on July 11, 2021, the British company made its first tourist flight. One of the crew members was the head of Virgin Galactic Richard Branson. The mission used the spacecraft VSS Unity and the aircraft VMS Eve. The flight lasted almost 14 minutes.
