42 companies from China, together with specialists from three universities, have developed an unmanned vehicle that runs on solar energy.

What we know

The car is called Tianjin. It has received an unmanned driving system and has no steering wheel. Solar panels are used to recharge the batteries, with a total area of 8.1 m2. According to the developers, the output power on sunny days is 7.6 kWh, and the density of battery energy storage is 330 Wt*h/kg.

The electric car has overall dimensions of 4 x 1.7 X 1.8 m and weighs approximately 1000 kg. The interior of Tianjin accommodates three passengers (in the back) and the driver, if you can call it that way, given the exclusively unmanned driving mode and the lack of a steering wheel. The latter is replaced by a large display. Self-Driving System - Level 4.

The car can reach 80 km/h speed. The cost of Tianjin is not specified.
