Supermassive black hole arranged "space cooking". The main ingredient of the dish was a nearby star.

Here's What We Know

The Hubble telescope observed the process. It was able to capture how a supermassive black hole destroyed a nearby star. Its remnants formed a ring with a black hole in the center. It looks like a doughnut.

The destroyed star is 300 million light years away from the center of the galaxy, which was studied by experts. The black hole will gradually suck up the remnants. The absorption will be accompanied by intense radiation.

The star and the supermassive black hole collision was so powerful that astronomers with the Hubble were able to study the spectrum of radiation longer than usual. The telescope showed the presence of various elements, including carbon and hydrogen.
