SpaceX sends Crew Dragon with four astronauts to the ISS on its third attempt
SpaceX was finally able to send four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS). The Crew-6 mission has been postponed twice.
Here's What We Know
The Crew Dragon was scheduled to depart for the ISS back on February 27. Due to problems with the liquid igniter, the mission launch was postponed by a day. However, the launch did not take place on February 28 due to adverse weather conditions.
NASA did not cancel the launch date on March 1 but moved the launch date to March 2. At 01:34 (EDT) or 22:34 (PDT), the Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center.
Less than 3 minutes later, the first stage, for which this was the first launch, separated and headed in the opposite direction. A few minutes later it successfully landed on the Just Read the Instructions unmanned platform.
At 01:46 (EDT) or 22:46 (PDT), the Crew Dragon spacecraft separated from the upper stage and headed to the ISS on its own. Arrival is expected on March 3 at 02:17 (EDT) or 23:17 (PDT). A few days later, the Crew-5 mission astronauts will leave the space station. The Crew-7 mission is expected in six months.
