NASA has discovered a massive hole on the Sun, which is 20-30 times the size of the Earth
Last week, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) discovered a black area on the Sun. It looks as if someone has made a hole in our star.
Here's What We Know
We are not talking about a hole in the general sense. It is just an area on the Sun that is much cooler than the rest of the star. Because of this, it has a black colour.
Following its detection, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has warned of geomagnetic storms. They are expected to be rated G1 or G2 on a scale of up to G5, where G5 is extremely strong and G1 is weak.
That said, scientists acknowledge that the hole is gigantic in size. Its dimeter is 300,000-400,000km. That's about 20-30 planets like Earth lined up in a row. The presence of such a zone on the Sun has no effect on life on Earth, but it looks spectacular.
