Although science has yet to prove the existence of dark matter, scientists suggest that there are planets in our universe that are 100% composed of it. What's more, they've figured out how to look for them.

Here's What We Know

Researchers have developed algorithms to find planets made of the mysterious matter. They are based on the assumption that the interaction between a star and a dark-matter planet will be different from that between a star and a normal exoplanet.

Scientists believe the clumps of dark matter could have planetary mass. If so, they would behave like dark exoplanets.

At the moment, there are many ways to determine the radius and mass of exoplanets, even if they are very far away from us. Researchers suggest that if they manage to detect a planet composed of dark matter, their calculations will show unusual results, hinting at different physics. For example, the density will be higher than that of iron.

Over decades of studying the universe, scientists have been able to discover many exoplanets with different characteristics. So far, however, they haven't been able to discover anything beyond physics.
