Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 5 leaked: €300 price, five colors, August launch

Sennheiser's next true wireless earbuds are almost here. A leak from well-known deal-tracking insider billbil-kun, published by Dealabs (exclusive leak), puts the Momentum True Wireless 5 at €300 in Europe — the same price the MTW4 launched at back in February 2024. UK buyers can expect something around £270–£280 if Sennheiser holds to its usual regional pricing, though nothing official has been confirmed yet.

The hardware

The MTW5 arrives roughly 18 months after regulatory filings first flagged its existence. SoundGuys (design context) confirmed those clearances — FCC, Japan MIC, and Korea RRA — which means the hardware is production-ready. The earbuds themselves are more compact than the MTW4, and the stabilizer wing that anchored previous models in the ear has been dropped in favor of a standard earbud shape.

The charging case gets the biggest visual overhaul: the soft cloth exterior that defined earlier Momentum models is gone, replaced by hard plastic. It's a practical shift that mirrors what Sennheiser did with the over-ear Momentum 5 earlier this year — prioritizing durability and a slimmer profile over the premium-fabric aesthetic.

The colors and the competition

Five colorways are in the lineup: Graphite, Cream, Copper, Denim/Blue, and Lavender. That's two more options than the Momentum 5 over-ear offers, giving the MTW5 a broader style appeal. At €300, the earbuds sit squarely alongside the Sony WF-1000XM6 (£300+) and well below the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 in the premium segment — price discipline in a market where most rivals have pushed upward.

The expected announcement date is August 19, 2026, with sales likely starting the same day. That closes a roughly 30-month gap since the MTW4 — longer than Sennheiser's typical release cycle, but the company has been busy: a flagship over-ear headset and open-ear clip model both launched this year already.

What's still unknown

Sennheiser has not made an official announcement. Driver specs, battery life, ANC performance, and codec support beyond Bluetooth 5.4 are all absent from the leak. Those details will matter at this price point — expect them at or around the August reveal.
