Sharp Aquos R8 Pro - Snapdragon 78 Gen 2, unusual 47.3MP 1" sensor, colour temperature sensor and 240Hz Pro IGZO OLED display
The highlight of Sharp's presentation today was the flagship smartphone Aquos R8 Pro. It complements the Aquos R8 and Aquos Wish 3 models.
Here's What We Know
The smartphone is equipped with a Pro IGZO OLED display with a refresh rate of 240Hz. Although it should be noted that the full frame rate is 120 Hz, while 240 Hz is achieved by displaying a black frame after each frame. The screen has a diagonal of 6.6" and a resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels.
The Sharp Aquos R8 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor running at up to 3.2 GHz and Adreno 740 graphics core, with 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage capacity.
One of the features of the flagship is the main camera. It is based on a 1" optical sensor with an unusual resolution of 47.3 MP. The pixel size is 1.6 microns. There is no optical image stabilization. A 14-channel colour temperature sensor is also present.
The Sharp Aquos R8 Pro comes with a 12.6MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a headphone jack and a Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh. The smartphone has Qi wireless charging support. The casing's water protection complies with the IP68 standard.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Sharp Aquos R8 Pro will be available to buy in July this year. The smartphone will arrive on the market with the Android 13 operating system pre-installed. The cost of the flagship has not been specified yet.
