Sharp Aquos R8 - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 50MP camera, Leica Hektor optics, 120Hz display and IP68 protection
Following Aquos Wish 3, Sharp has announced a more interesting model. The second novelty from the Japanese manufacturer is called Sharp Aquos R8.
Here's What We Know
The smartphone is equipped with a Pro IGZO OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, brightness up to 1300 nits and a diagonal of 6.4". The screen has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the side edge.
The Sharp Aquos R8 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The built-in flash storage capacity is 256GB. The inbuilt memory type is UFS 4.0.
The smartphone gets a dual 50 MP (1/1.55", Leica Hektor) + 13 MP main camera. There is no optical stabilisation. The 13 MP sensor is paired with ultra-wide-angle optics. The resolution of the front camera is 8 MP.
The body of the Sharp Aquos R8 features MIL-STD-810G and IP68 protection. The smartphone will also get a 4,570mAh battery, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a headphone jack and the Android 13 operating system.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Sharp Aquos R8 will hit the market in July this year. The price of the smartphone will be announced closer to the sales launch.
