Statistics have long shown that people are much more likely to access the internet via smartphones and tablets than via desktop PCs and laptops.

New data not only confirms this, but also records a new record.

In comparison, ten years ago, mobile traffic accounted for about 31% of the total.

By operating system, the distribution of traffic is as follows: Android - about 73%, iOS - about 26%, other platforms almost do not appear in the statistics.

By region, the situation is as follows:

  • Africa - about 69% of traffic comes from smartphones
  • Asia - 65%
  • South America - 51%
  • Europe - 49%
  • North America - 48%
  • Oceania - 39%
  • Poland is noted separately - there mobile traffic accounts for 53%.

Among the key reasons for the growth are noted:

  • increasing access to low-cost smartphones,
  • active deployment of 5G networks, especially in Asia,
  • increasing use of mobile devices for various tasks - from entertainment to financial transactions.

Experts predict that the share of smartphones in global traffic will continue to increase and in 2026 this figure may exceed 70%, as more and more users around the world choose mobile devices as their primary means of accessing the Internet.
