India had $75 million for Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing mission - Russia spent $130 million on Luna-25 programme and a single Falcon 9 launch costs $67 million

India has become the first country in history to make a soft landing at the South Pole of the Moon. And this was done with a very modest budget.

The Indian mission is called Chandrayaan-3. It launched over a month ago. Last week, the landing module made a soft landing at the South Pole of the Moon.

According to Reuter's information, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) spent only 6.15 billion rupees on the mission, i.e. about $75 million. For comparison, the Luna-25 mission, which ended with the crash of the interplanetary station, cost the Russian budget $130 million.

SpaceX spends about $67 million on each Falcon 9 rocket launch, while missions involving Falcon Heavy cost almost $100 million. Meanwhile, the budget for the Artemis lunar programme is $93 billion and will continue to grow.
