Social network X, owned by Elon Musk for almost a year, will become a broadcasting service for SpaceX rocket launches. The aerospace company will no longer broadcast launches on YouTube.

Here's What We Know

The decision of SpaceX, which also belongs to Musk, is due to the desire of the American billionaire to turn the social network X into a platform of the level of Twitch and YouTube, where users will be able to watch full-fledged live broadcasts.

A few days ago, SpaceX sent another batch of Starlink satellites into space. The broadcast was shown only on social network X. An almost identical situation occurred during the return of Dragon with the crew of Mission Crew-6. SpaceX showed in YouTube the moment of undocking the ship from the ISS, and the continuation of the broadcast could be seen in the social network X.

User dissatisfaction is largely due to the fact that X does not yet have the same user-friendly interface when viewing videos as YouTube. In addition, YouTube is available as an app for TVs.

For now, the problem is solved simply. YouTube has other channels that broadcast SpaceX rocket launches. For example, Spaceflightnow.com and NASASpaceflight.
