SpaceX may not dream of launching a 120-metre Starship rocket until it solves all the problems
Elon Musk has announced that Starship is ready for its first orbital flight. The ball went to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The regulator's response didn't have to wait long.
Here's What We Know
The FAA announced that the rocket system, which consists of Starship and the Super Heavy booster, is not ready for launch. In order to launch, SpaceX must fix the previously identified problems.
It's all about the fact that the aerospace company failed to meet all the requirements that the FAA has put forward. The regulator is overseeing an investigation into the causes of the failed launch, when Starship exploded at an altitude of about 40 kilometres after three minutes of flight.
The FAA says the investigation is not yet complete. Until SpaceX has met all requirements to prevent similar problems, authorities will not be able to authorise a second attempt to orbit Starship.
