SpaceX made its 90th and 91st successful launches in 2023 - the company has completed more than 90 per cent of US space missions
The day before the next batch of Starlink Internet satellites went into orbit. And today SpaceX made another mission, which became the 91st since the beginning of the year.
Here's What We Know
Yesterday Falcon 9 put into orbit 23 spacecraft, which added to the constellation of about 5100 satellites. The rocket launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida. After 8.5 minutes, the first stage landed in the Atlantic Ocean.
Today's mission put 22 more Starlink satellites into orbit. Falcon 9 launched from a spaceport in California, and the first stage made a vertical landing in the Pacific Ocean after separation.
The satellites were deployed 65 minutes after each rocket liftoff. In 2023, all Falcon 9 launches were successful. In total, 98 out of 100 space launches in the US were successful in 2023, meaning SpaceX's share exceeds 90 per cent.
Last year, the aerospace company completed 61 launches. In 2024, SpaceX wants to carry out 144 launches.
