New images have emerged on Mars that reveal the details of the tragic fate of NASA's Ingenuity helicopter. The experimental helicopter was found crashed in the Martian desert after 72 flights.

Here's What We Know

New photos taken by the Perseverance rover show that the helicopter crashed so hard that one of its rotors was completely detached from the body. The descent on the smooth sandy plains was the end for Ingenuity, which was designed to perform controlled flights on the surface of Mars.

Experts pointed out that one of the rotor blades was completely broken off, and the others were seriously damaged. NASA scientists explained that the sandy terrain where the crash occurred made it difficult for the helicopter to move, as the software could not effectively track objects on the surface.

Despite the tragic ending of the Ingenuity mission, research continues, and the data collected from this mission will be useful for future projects aimed at exploring Mars and developing aerospace technologies.
