Hackers Lockbit have claimed to have stolen 3,000 unique blueprints from SpaceX. It was reported by The Register.

Here's What We Know

The hacking group said the unique blueprints, created by engineers at aerospace company of Elon Musk, were obtained through a hack of Maximum Industries, one of SpaceX's contractors. The cybercriminals believe they can find a buyer quickly.

Despite the hackers' confidence, Maximum Industries has no plans to pay a ransom yet. Lockbit itself says so. They have given the company until March 20, 2023 to release the blueprints.

The Register has contacted Maximum Industries and SpaceX, but so far has had no comment. However, the publication notes that the stolen data may have no value, as even with the documents the buyer must still make the parts and use them without raising suspicions.

But the very fact of the leak could create trouble for SpaceX. Ilon Musk's company provides services to the US government. In this regard, there is a high probability that security problems will draw the attention of authorities.
