SpaceX to launch Sateliot space base stations to provide satellite communications from smartphones

The company from Spain wants to launch five satellites into orbit by the end of this year. According to representatives of the startup, this first phase of the project will be completed. Sateliot wants to have 64 satellites in orbit next year, and the company plans to increase the number to 256 in 2025.
The 256 satellites will be enough to enable users around the world to exchange messages over the 5G NB-IoT standard. In the first phase, the startup intends to focus on serving not ordinary users, but companies whose activities take place offshore. Implementation of the plan required Sateliot to close three deals worth $1.1 billion.
The spacecraft of the Spanish company have huge dimensions, but one satellite is enough to ensure communication on the territory, which is three times larger than Texas. The area of the American state is 695 622 sq. km.
