SpaceX launches 46 Starlink satellites on third attempt despite unsuitable weather conditions
SpaceX has finally sent a new batch of Starlink satellites into orbit. The 46 spacecraft were launched on only the third attempt.
Here's What We Know
The launch was originally scheduled for April 25, but it had to be rescheduled for April 26. The launch was then postponed for another day. On April 27, despite thick fog, the Falcon 9 rocket was launched from the U.S. Space Force base in California. The launch of Falcon Heavy, on the other hand, was delayed.
The first stage returned to Earth after 8.5 minutes. She landed on the Of Course I Still Love You drone in the Pacific Ocean and came close to a record. For her, the mission was her 13th. Two launches remain to repeat the record.
Elon Musk's company has completed a total of 27 successful missions since the beginning of 2023. Its goal is to complete 100 launches within a year. To make it easier to cope, SpaceX has leased Launch Complex 6 at Vandenberg Base from the US Space Force.
