On 20 April, SpaceX launched the Starship rocket system into orbit. The company was forced to detonate the spacecraft and rocket at an altitude of about 40km. Starship debris is known to have reached a state park in Texas and triggered a fire.

Here's What We Know

Federal agencies are reporting that Starship debris caused a 3.5-acre (1.4-hectare) fire. The US Fish and Wildlife Service found no evidence of wildlife deaths.

After Starship exploded, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) banned launches, but this is normal procedure. The agency has launched an investigation into the incident, which will result in a decision on a second Starship launch. Earlier, Elon Musk said that SpaceX plans to make a second attempt within one or two months.

The aerospace company must now remove all debris resulting from the launch and detonation of Starship. SpaceX is also required to conduct a wildlife, plant analysis and send a report to several federal agencies.
