The US Army has committed nearly $300m to BAE Systems. The modification to the previously signed agreement will allow for the modernisation of an additional batch of M2 Bradley combat vehicles.
Here's What We Know
The upgrade to the A4 level will improve the performance of the infantry fighting vehicle by installing new drivetrain and suspension components. After the upgrade, the M2 Bradley will have an improved fire control system that will improve fire accuracy and increase the speed of response of on-board systems to external threats.
The new contract is valued at $288 million. We previously wrote that BAE Systems was awarded $190 million to upgrade more than 70 infantry fighting and support vehicles to the M2A4 and M7A4 respectively.
