Framework offers a laptop without RAM, storage or OS
Framework, known for its modular laptops, has for the first time offered a system-free configuration of the Framework Laptop 13 for less than USD 500.
Here's What We Know
The 13-inch laptop model is powered by an 11th-generation Intel Core i7 processor with Iris Xe graphics, which provides power for basic tasks and some games. However, it is important to note that the basic Framework laptops do not include RAM, storage, Wi-Fi connectivity, a power adapter or an operating system.
Users have the opportunity to select and install the necessary components on their own.
Laptops offered for less than $500 are classified as "Factory Seconds", which means they consist of redundant parts and new components. Such systems may have minor cosmetic issues with the display, but this makes them more affordable for a wide range of users.
Factory Seconds laptops are currently available for purchase in the US, Canada, and Australia.
