Twitter introduces monetisation: paid subscriptions to users' pages and 20% commission
The social network Twitter has launched content monetisation for authors.
Here's How It Works
Users will now not only be able to post content for free, but also get paid for it. A paid subscription will open up access to selected posts, which will be highlighted with a special icon.
There are some requirements for authors who want to start monetizing: age 18 or older, at least 500 subscribers and at least 25 posts published in the last 30 days.
Users set the cost of subscribing to their page themselves, but Twitter will pick up some of the revenue as a commission. It will be 3% until the amount of money paid for the subscription reaches $50,000; above this amount it will be 20%. If you buy a subscription through an Apple device, add another 30% commission, which Apple will collect.
Monetization is available in over 100 countries.
