Yamaha unveils FAZER R G2 unmanned helicopter for aerial survey, patrol and cargo delivery
Yamaha has announced a new version of an unmanned helicopter. The model is called FAZER R G2. It features increased power and increased payload.
Here's What We Know
The manufacturer is positioning the FAZER R G2 as an industrial model that will be able to assist in a variety of applications, including unmanned delivery and construction. Specifically, Yamaha believes the new helicopter will be able to deliver packages to hard-to-reach areas. For example, in the mountains.
The FAZER R G2 has 1.8 m blades, 24 cm more than the previous model. The unmanned helicopter is equipped with a lightweight camera and a lithium-ion battery. All this, together with an updated design of the fuel tank makes it possible to increase thrust as compared with its predecessor.
The maximum payload is 50 kg. The manufacturer claims that the FAZER R G2 can carry 1 ton of material in 20 flights. For comparison, the previous model would require nine more attempts.
The helicopter can be used for infrastructure checks, area patrols and aerial surveys. The FAZER R G2 can be operated manually or automatically.
