Israel Aerospace Industries awarded two contracts worth $1,000,000,000 to supply drones to the Israel Defense Forces and an unknown foreign customer
Against the backdrop of the active use of drones in Ukraine, demand for drones began to grow worldwide. In particular, Israel Aerospace Industries was able to sign a contract of record value to supply drones.
Here's What We Know
The Israeli manufacturer received two contracts - from the Israel Defense Forces and from an unknown state. The contract value for the IDF, which continues to build up its fleet of drones, was $600 million, a repeat of the record deal that was signed between Germany and Israel Aerospace Industries to supply Heron TP drones, aka IAI Eitan.
The second contract was worth $400 million. But we're unlikely to know in the near future which country bought the Israeli drones. Previously, the top three drone contracts included Hermes-900 and Heron drone deals worth $300 million and $200 million, respectively.
