Titra will develop Turkey's first unmanned Alpin helicopter

Turkish engineering company Titra has received government funding to develop the country's first unmanned Alpin helicopter.

Ankara authorities have included the drone development project in their list of priority regional investments. Titra intends to produce ten helicopters a year in addition to 250 Deli kamikaze drones.

The Alpin is based on the concept of the Italian Heli-Sport CH-7 ultra-light helicopter (pictured below). Due to its technical parameters the drone will be used for military and civilian purposes, as well as in search and rescue operations.

Overall dimensions of the helicopter are 7 x 2.35 x 1.5 meters, and the diameter of the main rotor is 6.28 meters. Unmanned aerial vehicle will be able to carry a payload up to 200 kg (including fuel). Its own mass will be 340 kg.

The Alpin will have a broadband satellite link for operations in remote areas. The helicopter will be equipped with a 115 horsepower Rotax 914 UL engine. It will have a maximum flight speed of 160 km/h, an altitude of 5 km and a range of 840 km. The Alpin will feature a fully automated takeoff/landing system and will be able to fly for 2 to 7 hours depending on payload weight.
