Canadian firm RDARS has found a way to install security systems in areas without Internet access.

Here's What We Know

Starlink has helped it do just that. The company was able to successfully connect the drones that make up the surveillance system to SpaceX's satellite Internet service.

The key components of the RDARS system are the drones and the ground station - Eagle Eye and Eagle Nest, respectively. The station previously supported only Wi-Fi and cellular networks, but now Starlink satellite internet has joined the two options.

RDARS officials say U.S. employees were involved in connecting Eagle Nest to Starlink and helped make it happen. But the Canadians do not share any details of the cooperation.

RDARS hopes that Starlink antennas will become smaller in the future. This will make it possible to install them not on the Eagle Nest station, but directly on Eagle Eye drones. The drones will have enough speed up to 2 Mbps for normal communication.
