Phenom unmanned helicopter with 12.7mm machine gun and Hydra 70 rockets unveiled

HelioTech has unveiled an unmanned aerial vehicle. The novelty is called Phenom. The presentation took place in Abu Dhabi at IDEX-2023.

Here's What We Know

The Phenom is a 2 tonnes unmanned helicopter. It can be used for ground and maritime reconnaissance as well as tactical operations. The drone can carry a payload with a maximum weight of 800 kg.

The Phenom is equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun. The drone is also capable of carrying US 70mm Hydra 70 unguided rockets developed by General Dynamics.

The standard configuration of the Phenom can remain airborne for four hours. Additional fuel tanks increase the drone's flight time to 8 hours.

The drone is designed, developed and will be manufactured by HelioTech in the United Arab Emirates with the support of international partners. Production of the Phenom will commence by the end of 2026.
