Skyassist wants to ramp up production of Ukraine's $3,000 Sirko drones to 3,000 units a month - the reconnaissance drone has a range of more than 100km and can evade radar
At the end of July, Skyssist announced the launch of production of Sirko drones. As it became known the Ukrainian company is preparing to triple the production of UAVs.
Here's What We Know
Sirko is a Ukrainian UAV that is used for fire correction, reconnaissance and surveillance. It weighs only 1.3kg and can move unnoticed by enemy radars. The drone's body is made of polymer materials. The wingspan is only 90 cm.
A catapult is used to launch the drone. The aircraft can spend more than 90 minutes in the air and has a range of over 100 kilometres. For this purpose, a battery with a capacity of 12.6 A*h is provided. The maximum speed is 34 m/s and the cruising speed is 21 m/s. The video stream transmission range reaches 25 kilometres.
To produce Sirko, the company imports components from China, Canada, Israel and Taiwan. Earlier, Igor Krinichko, chairman of the supervisory board of Skyassist, announced the production of 800-1000 drones per month. However, the company has already prepared two more production lines and is preparing to launch them. This will allow for the monthly production of up to 3,000 Sirko drones.
The cost of one drone is $3000. A kit with equipment (video communication antenna and telemetry antenna) and accessories (bag, battery, cable, spare propellers, power adapter) costs $4000. The company also offers kits consisting of two and three UAVs for $6500 and $9250, respectively.
