Netherlands orders additional batch of MQ-9A Reaper drones worth $611 million
The Dutch Ministry of Defence is increasing its order for US MQ-9A Reaper drones.

The information was shared by the manufacturer General Atomics. We are talking about an additional batch of 4 UAVs worth $611 million. Earlier the Netherlands also ordered four drones. In addition to drones, the contract also includes three mobile ground control systems (GCS). What armament the drones will receive and when deliveries will begin is still unknown.

The MQ-9 Reaper is a modular reconnaissance and strike drone. It is manufactured by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. It is in service with the US and UK armies. The UAV made its first flight in 2001. The drone has a turboprop engine, which allows it to reach a speed of more than 400 km/h. MQ-9 Reaper is capable of flying at an altitude of up to 13 kilometres.
