The Polish Armed Forces will receive 1,700 FlyEye drones, which are considered one of the best reconnaissance-class UAVs in the world
Poland is purchasing a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles for the armed forces. The choice was made in favour of domestically produced FlyEye drones.
Here's What We Know
FlyEye is a development of the Polish company WB Electronics. The unmanned aerial vehicle meets NATO standards and is included in the list of the world's best reconnaissance-level UAVs. It can carry up to 11kg of payload and has means of countering electronic warfare.
The drone has a communication transmission radius of up to 180 kilometres and can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h. It has a maximum flight altitude of 3,000 metres. FlyEye does not need a launcher or runway. Launching is done by hand.
Poland is ordering 425 unmanned aerial systems, i.e. 1,700 UAVs. WB Electronics will be able to hand over all FlyEye drones in the latest version to the country's armed forces by 2035.
