Ukrainian defence forces destroyed more than 100 Iranian kamikaze attack drones Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 over the week
Over the past seven days, the Russians have attacked Ukraine five times with Shahed-136 and smaller Shahed-131 kamikaze drones. Once again, the Defence Forces were able to shoot down most of the aerial threats.
Here's What We Know
The massive strike was carried out on 10 September. The Air Defence Force was able to intercept 26 out of 33 kamikaze drones overnight. The following night, 12 out of 12 drones were destroyed.
The most massive attack this week occurred on 13 September. The Russians launched 44 attack drones, of which 32 were shot down. On 14 and 15 September, Ukrainian sky defenders destroyed 17 drones of 22 and 17 each, respectively.
Thus, 128 Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 kamikaze drones were launched across Ukraine in five days. The Ukrainian Defence Forces shot down 104 attack UAVs, i.e. the effectiveness of the air defence system was more than 81%.
