Teledyne FLIR has announced the Black Hornet 4 drone. The company positions the novelty as a miniature personal reconnaissance system.

Here's What We Know

Black Hornet 4 is based largely on the last generation model. The company said it has delivered approximately 20,000 Black Hornet 3 drones to customers since 2017, of which Ukraine received 1,000 thanks to the UK and Norway. The new nano platform is designed to provide improved situational awareness in conflict situations.

Black Hornet 4 weighs 70 g. The drone is equipped with a main camera with a resolution of 12 MP. According to the manufacturer, specialists managed to improve the capabilities of the module in low light. Next to the regular camera, a high-resolution thermal imager is installed.

The drone is equipped with a rechargeable battery that provides up to 30 minutes of flight time. It has a range of 2 kilometres. Black Hornet 4 can perform missions at wind speeds of 45 km/h.
