German company Quantum-Systems has unveiled the Twister drone with AI that can be carried in a backpack

Quantum-Systems has unveiled a new drone. The Twister drone made its debut at the AUSA 2023 conference. It can be disassembled into six parts and carried in a backpack.

The new platform is still in the prototype stage. Quantum-Systems plans to finalise the drone early next year. The company now has five models undergoing flight tests at its Munich factory.

The Twister is a vertical takeoff and landing drone. It has a maximum take-off weight of 2.5 kg and a wingspan of 1.2 metres. The payload mass is 350g. The lithium-ion battery will provide up to 75 minutes of flight time without recharging. The range will be 10 kilometres.

The drone will get support for artificial intelligence algorithms. The company also reports the option of two electro-optical/infrared sensors NextVision Nighthawk2-UZ and AVT Australia CM62.
