General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) is ready to test the Mojave drone aboard a UK Royal Navy aircraft carrier. The tests are scheduled for next month.

Here's What We Know

HMS Prince of Wales recently made its way to the US East Coast where it will spend four months. As part of this deployment, the first ever landing of an American F-35B fifth-generation fighter jet on the deck of a British aircraft carrier took place.

In November, an unmanned aerial vehicle will be aboard HMS Prince of Wales. If all goes to plan, GA-ASI will test Mojave's ability to land on the aircraft carrier's deck. The drone, like the F-35B fighter jet, has a short takeoff and can land vertically.

The purpose of the test is to launch Mojave from the aircraft carrier and return back. At the same time, a representative of the US company noted that the drone will be able to land only under suitable weather conditions.

Mojave was presented in December 2021. The new UAV is designed to carry out expeditionary missions. The drone can carry up to 16 AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and stay in the air for more than 25 hours.
