The US Army has ordered more than 100 Switchblade 600 anti-tank kamikaze drones

We recently wrote that AeroVironment will soon ramp up deliveries of Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones to Ukraine. The US has also decided to order barrage munitions.

Here's What We Know

The anti-tank kamikaze drone can reach speeds of up to 185 km/h and stay in the air for more than 40 minutes. The US Army intends to purchase more than a hundred barrage munitions, but the exact number is not disclosed at the moment.

The Switchblade 300 costs approximately $6000. As for the price of the Switchblade 600, there is still no information about it. It is assumed that the anti-tank kamikaze drone will cost $80,000-176,000, i.e. it will be no more expensive than the Javelin missile.

The U.S. Army is buying AeroVironment's barrage munitions for use at the company level. The kamikaze drones will provide US soldiers with the ability to destroy tanks and other enemy armoured vehicles.
