Iran allegedly added artificial intelligence to drones to improve accuracy, increase range and evade radar
Iranian missiles, ships and drones have received artificial intelligence. This is reported by Fars News Agency, quoting Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri.
Here's What We Know
The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy said that the use of artificial intelligence in drones allows them to increase their range, improve accuracy and improve their ability to evade radar stations. Alireza Tangsiri did not specify which UAVs now have AI. It's also not clear exactly how AI affects range.
It is difficult to say how true the Rear Admiral's words about the integration of artificial intelligence into UAVs, missiles and ships are. Often the Iranian military's statements are far from reality. For example, earlier this year they tried to pass off an ARM board costing $800 for a quantum processor for next-generation weapons.
