Thailand intends to use the D11A missile system to launch kamikaze drones. The Institute of Defence Technology is in talks with Israeli company Elbit Systems.

Here's What We Know

The D11A was officially unveiled more than a year ago. It is Thailand's version of the PULS multiple rocket launcher system. The Royal Thai Navy's Office of Naval Research and Development participated in the development.

The launcher has two containers, each holding nine AccuLAR-122, five AccuLAR-160, two EXTRA or one Predator Hawk missiles. The maximum ranges are 35km, 40km, 150km and 300 ka respectively.

However, Thailand wants to use the D11A to launch SkyStriker kamikaze drones. The Israeli-made barrage munition has a range of up to 100km. The maximum flight altitude is nearly 4.6 kilometres. The advanced version is equipped with a 10kg warhead and can stay in the air for 1 hour. There is also a configuration with a 5kg warhead. It flies twice as long.
