Apple and Huawei recently released their flagship smartphone lines - iPhone 14 and Huawei Mate 50, which got satellite support. Insider Ricciolo says that Samsung does not want to lag behind its competitors and plans to add this feature to its Galaxy smartphones.

Here's What We Know

There's no concrete information yet - just leaks. When exactly the Samsung gadgets will receive support for satellite communications and what models - it is also not clear. But one thing is clear: the South Korean manufacturer does not like to remain on the sidelines, especially when Apple has made a big fuss about the innovation. Although satellite communication on the iPhone 14 will not be available until November and for now will only work in the U.S. and Canada.

It also remains a mystery whose services Samsung will use. After all, Apple is taking over much of Globalstar's network for its Emergency SOS feature on the iPhone 14 and future iPhones. Globalstar recently said it would "provide 85% of its current and future network capacity."

The media reports that Samsung may turn to Elon Musk and his Starlink. By the way, his company was in talks with Apple, but the latter eventually chose Globalstar.
