Samsung may introduce its first foldable laptop with a large, flexible OLED display in 2023
This year, Samsung was supposed to present its first foldable laptop with an OLED display. However, as a result, the release of the gadget was postponed until 2023.
Here's What We Know
An industry report about Samsung's plans for OLED-display laptops suggests that the company is preparing to release a laptop with a foldable 17.3-inch panel in 2023. When folded, the diagonal OLED-display will be 13.3 inches, and this is the largest size among competitors. For example, the recently released Asus ZenBook 17 Fold has a 12.6-inch folded screen, the ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 has 12 inches.
Also next year, its foldable laptop with a 17-inch flexible screen should present HP. It will be foldable into a compact 11-inch device.
Such flexible OLED panels are not cheap, and laptops with them - too. For example, the Asus ZenBook 17 Fold costs $3500. Meanwhile, Asus allegedly ordered only 10,000 of these panels from BOE, and the same with HP's order for LG. But Samsung's laptop may cost less, since the displays will be produced by a subsidiary.
